  • If you believe your privacy has been breached, please contact us immediately on info@magmamoulding.co.uk

Where do we store the data?

The personal data we collect is processed at our offices in Plymouth (where we have a server) and in the cloud (via MS365 and Google – our principal productivity tools) and in any data processing facilities operated by the third parties identified below. Some of these facilities are outside the UK and EEA.

If we transfer or store your information outside the UK or EEA, we take steps required by law to ensure that your privacy rights continue to be protected as outlined in this Privacy Policy. Normally, this involves us conducting a data transfer risk assessment and requiring our suppliers to enter binding contractual commitments with us designed to protect your data.

How long do we store your data?

If you’ve been a Magma customer, we’ll delete your personal data from our systems seven years after you stop being a Magma customer. We keep the information in this time in case there are any legal claims relating to your time as a customer.

If we contacted you about our services or you requested a quote or other information from us, we’ll delete your personal data from our systems three years after we last contacted you. This stops us contacting you again too soon if you’re not interested in our products and services right now.

Third parties who process your data

Businesses like Magma Moulding Ltd often use third parties to help them host their application, communicate with customers, power their emails etc. We partner with third parties who we believe are the best in their field at what they do.

When we do this, sometimes it is necessary for us to share your data with them in order to get these services to work well. Your data is shared only when strictly necessary and according to the safeguards and good practices detailed in this Privacy Policy.

Where personal data is transferred to a third party in a country outside the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) that is not considered to offer an adequate level of protection for personal data, we conduct a transfer risk assessment and ensure that we have in place a binding contract with them containing the current version of the standard contractual clauses with them. Generally, we use the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses, supplemented by the UK’s International Data Transfer Addendum. We continually monitor this transfer mechanism.

Any data transfers outside the UK or EEA are encrypted and generally do not include special categories of personal data.

Our principal providers are:

  • Microsoft and Google which are our principal productivity tools. We will store your personal data in these services. This data is stored in the UK, the EEA or the US, depending on your data region.

  • WIX.com which we use to power our website. This data is stored in the UK, the EEA or the US, depending on your data region.

We use cookies, which are small text files that are stored where you browse a website and may help improve the browsing experience.

Unless you adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies, we (and these third parties) will issue cookies when you interact with Magma. These may be ‘session’ cookies, meaning they delete themselves when you leave Magma, or ‘persistent’ cookies which do not delete themselves and help us recognise you when you return so we can provide a tailored service.

How can I block cookies?

You can block cookies by activating a setting on your browser allowing you to refuse the setting of cookies. You can also use our cookie banner to manage your preferences. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings.
