What we do
For over 30 years, Magma Moulding's team has been serving the needs of our customers. We are able to offer the following services from our facility in Devon:
Injection Moulding
Injection moulding is at the core of what we do. From larger volumetric products to smaller, precision engineered items, we have 12 injection moulding machines ranging from 35 to 350 tonnes. Our maximum shot capacity is 950g (for PS). We mould all types of plastics, including commodity materials such as LDPE and PP and engineering plastics such as POM and PPS.
Precision Technical Products
We're able to make precision technical moulded products to the highest specifications, for even the most demanding and sophisticated customers. We have extensive experience working with clients in highly regulated sectors and are experts in making safety-critical products.
Two Shot Moulding
We have two shot moulding capabilities ranging from 80 to 125 tonnes with both rotational and robotic capabilities. We offer two colour or two material moulding and two shot moulding with inserts.
Lens & Optical Moulding
We manufacture high precision lenses in both PC and PPMA and have unique abilities to mould optical lenses using TPU, allowing for flexible product.
In-Mould Labelling
We use state-of-the-art technology to enhance the aesthetic or functional aspects products with in-mould labels. With static pinning and advanced robotics, we ensure precision and repeatability.
Insert Moulding
We offer both in-mould and post-mould inserting. We have capabilities and extensive experience of heat staking and press fitting processes.
Tampo Printing
Our Tampo printing service offer three-colour printing with image sizes of up to 150m and have extensive experience of printing on PP products.
Ultrasonic Welding
We have strong capabilities with ultrasonic welding techniques, saving time and cost in production.
Quality Assurance
We are ISO9001:2015 certified and our team's deep expertise in technical engineering means we are able to offer PPAP and APQP quality assurance processes, as well as CMM measuring capability, 8D root cause analysis and FMEA.
Tool Design
We are expert tool designers and have deep relationships with specialist tooling manufacturers. We can assist customers with steel selection and can run tooling trials through to full production. We also run preventative maintenance programmes on customers' tooling.
Design for Manufacture
We can assist customers with material selection and have state of the art tools for running mould flow analysis. We are also highly experienced in DFMEA, ensuring that we deliver the highest level quality assurance programmes to our customers.
Product Design
Our expert team can assist with product design, from materials selection to prototyping. We also have strong links with testing laboratories who provide certifications for a wide variety of products.
Warehousing and Fulfilment
Our dedicated warehouse adjacent to our facility means we can store, pick, pack and ship your products worldwide, removing nodes and associated costs from your supply chain. We have over 25 years' experience in supply chain management and can meet the most demanding fulfilment requirements.
